AIA honours Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park with a Small Project Award

The American Institute of Architects named Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park a winner in its 2023 Small Project Awards, the programme's twentieth year.

Completed with Ten Eyck Landscape Architects and Mell Lawrence Architects, the phase reworks the southern tip of Austin's first park — restoring the 1920s Tudor Cottage and adding two buildings that tuck into the hillside behind walls of steel mesh planted for ivy.

The project has also received a Chicago Athenaeum American Architecture Award, a Texas Society of Architects Design Award, an Austin Green Building Project of the Year Award and a Preservation Austin Merit Award for the cottage itself.
