Garden & Gun on the Cedar Tavern bar at Eberly

Garden & Gun told the story of the thirty-foot mahogany bar at the heart of Eberly: salvaged from Greenwich Village's Cedar Tavern, a room whose patrons included Jackson Pollock and Jack Kerouac.

Working within a raw shell of concrete and glass, we divided a former print shop into three environments — the restored Cedar Tavern, the mod Café and the book-filled Study, the last modelled on English greenhouses so it works as a coffee shop by day and an extension of the Tavern by night.

Brass unifies all three rooms, showcased in custom fixtures wrapping the columns, while exposed steel beams carry the weight of the rooftop patio above.
